Michael Burkitt’s practice is context-specific, or site responsive. His artwork is optimistic and sardonically absurd. This creates lots of room for romance, failure, repetition, labour, humour, love and institutional critique.

He intends to make meaningful connections with audiences or individuals with ideas, objects, images and performances.

Recent projects have explored oral and alternative histories of civic and social narratives through collage, text, print, animation and film.
